Themes

Dice as Skillful Mechanic

The use of polyhedral dice in the Cyberpunk CCG is designed to be skill-intensive, allowing Night City to act as a dynamic character through the gig system.

Balancing Cyberpunk Essence

Designing the game to capture the Cyberpunk experience—cyberware, weapons, netrunning—without making strategies linear or forcing players into a single playstyle.

New Player Accessibility

Focus on making the game approachable for newcomers, including those who have only watched Edgerunners, while still satisfying competitive TCG players.

Character Card Design

The process of creating cards that authentically represent iconic characters like Judy, Johnny, and Jackie, capturing specific moments and personalities through mechanics and art.

Art and Mechanics Integration

How art and card mechanics are developed together, sometimes top-down or bottom-up, to ensure flavorful and resonant representations of characters and moments.

Future Content Pipeline

Discussion of mechanics and ideas that were cut from the initial set but are planned for future releases, indicating a long-term design vision.
